About The Owner

A girl can dream...

Hey y’all, I’m Kendra, owner of Wildflower Boutique. Thank you for being here with me on this journey!

Here's a little backstory on how we got here...

Following in my dad's footsteps, I envisioned myself operating my own business from a very young age. Hard work and integrity have always been at the core of who I am, paired with a passion for expressing myself through art and creation.

Born and raised in Middle Tennessee, I grew up like most kids in working-class southern families of the 1990’s-early 2000’s: homework & sports during the school months, spending long summer days in the woods with cousins, figuring the internet out with friends, and family time & church every weekend.

While I did great in school, I found myself much more interested in the arts: drawing, painting, creating, deep diving into music and movies and pop culture. I was constantly day dreaming about acting or singing at Juilliard School or becoming one of the youngest fashion designers at FIDM...

Fast forward to 2012 when I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Merchandising, and Design, and a minor concentration in Business Administration. I didn’t make it to New York or Los Angeles other than to visit, but those four years living just a few hours away from home taught me so much about myself and life in general. I learned I was a bit of a wild card, an extroverted-introvert, now recognized as an enneagram 1W9, with so many beliefs and ideas. Those years also taught me how important self-confidence was and how to embrace how unique God had made me. As Tom Petty once sang about, I felt like I belonged “among the wildflowers".

Following graduation, I was blessed to work in my industry for 7+ years and learn from and become incredible friends with many other "wildflowers"- strong, smart, and confident women who were learning along the way with me. I owe so much to all of those babes... Fast forward a few more years, when I stepped away from clothing & wardrobe styling to put my design-eye to the test in another field: home decor and home styling.

You can still find me merchandising and designing spaces at Mercantile 1858, and now, you will also find my brand & business. Things have come full circle, and in 2021, I am so excited to have taken the leap into starting my own brand of boutique. My dreams are still big & very vivid, but I’m so blessed to have made it to this point with the support of my husband, family, friends, coworkers, and clients.

My hopes are that this shopping experience & each purchase can provide you with sustainable, eclectic clothing & accessories that amplify your personal uniqueness. If you belong among the wildflowers, you’re shopping in the right place!

“Be the wildflower in a field full of roses.”
